NOTE: Due of COVID, Mask wearing is required, except when eating or drinking.
The three speakers will be
Jess Campbell of the Rural Organizing Project (ROP). Jess is the Executive Director ROP. About ROP: Rural Organizing Project is a state-wide organization that supports a multi-issue, rural-centered, grassroots base in Oregon. We work to build and support a shared standard of human dignity: the belief in the equal worth of all communities, the need for equal access to justice and the right to self-determination.
Erin Gardner of Progressive Yamhill; she is an activist that worked on the Newberg school board recall and the Yamhill County commissioner recall. About Progressive Yamhill: Progressive Yamhill was created in November, 2016. We are made up of engaged residents and friends of Yamhill Valley who believe in developing a community that both respects and creates equity, inclusion, safety and freedom from fear & hate for all. Our purpose is to educate & inform, and to actively participate in the creation of a local climate in support of these beliefs.
Hear about their successful organizing tools and what they would do differently.
Omar Sandoval, Chief of Staff for Gresham Rep. Ricki Ruiz and Chair of Yamhill County Democrats, will give us a sneak peak at the upcoming legislative session.
In the afternoon, we will decide our focus for the coming year's work. This will give OUUVfJ focus for the year but also allow each of you to band together to work on your social justice passions.
