GRADUATION APPLICATION 2023-2024

The deadline to apply for graduation for the 2023-2024 academic year is April 1, 2024. It is the student's responsibility to meet this deadline. Failure to apply by the deadline will delay your degree conferral and will result in exclusion from the commencement ceremony and printed program.

If you are ordering a diploma, it will be mailed to the permanent address listed on your official student record at Coastal Alabama. It is the student's responsibility to make sure your address is correct prior to completing this application. Students who order a paper diploma will also receive an electronic version of their diploma via their email (from Parchment Award).

Make sure to review your Degree Works audit worksheet in your student account BEFORE submitting this application. If you have not completed a degree audit with an advisor, please contact a member of the Advising Team by emailing Advising@CoastalAlabama.edu.

Dates and times for the May 2024 graduation ceremonies are TBA. The graduation ceremonies will be for those students meeting graduation application requirements during this application period. For the 2024 ceremony, summer 2024 graduates may be allowed to participate in the ceremony if they 1) complete all required classes by the end of the summer term, and 2) show proof of registration in the summer classes by May 1st. Students who will not meet degree requirements until the end of fall 2024 must participate in the May 2025 ceremony.

After the April 1st deadline, all applicants who have chosen to participate in a ceremony will receive more information about practice, and students who have chosen to participate at the Bay Minette campus will receive a link via their Coastal email account to RSVP and choose a ceremony time.

Graduates are responsible for ordering their own graduation regalia. For ordering information and the deadline to order, please contact the Bookstore directly at 251-580-2211.

Graduates should report to their ceremony properly dressed with all regalia (cap, gown, tassel). Extras will NOT be available.

DISTRIBUTION OF DIPLOMAS: Diplomas will not be distributed during the ceremony. All diplomas are mailed. You will receive a souvenir diploma cover only during the ceremony. It takes time for degrees to be recorded once all grades have been posted. Given the large volume of graduation applications submitted, please know that the process for recording degrees is a very detailed one and does not occur instantaneously. It could take several weeks for your degree to be posted. Please continue to check your Coastal email account. You will receive an email once your degree is recorded. If you need an official transcript showing graduation, please go ahead and place your order online and check "HOLD FOR DEGREE," during the order process. That way, your order will be in the queue to be sent as soon as degrees are posted. Diplomas will only be mailed if you have paid the $25 diploma fee.
