What's next?
At least one week prior to the baptism, you must submit some items to the parish office.
* We must have godparent forms turned in to the parish office:
If you are taking a baptism preparation class, you will receive the godparent forms at class.
If you have already taken a class in the last 5 years, please contact the parish office for godparent forms.
You must have one Catholic Godparent for your child. Godparents must be:
- 16 or older
- Confirmed in the Catholic Church
- Practicing Catholic
- If married, validly married in the Catholic Church or received dispensation from the diocesan bishop.
If your child will have more than one godparent, each godparent must be of the opposite sex.
Anyone not Catholic can stand in as a Christian witness as long as they are of the opposite sex of the Catholic godparent.
* You must provide a copy of your child's birth certificate.
