    Nature Connection's (NC) outdoor programs would not be possible without the help of volunteers like you. To ensure that you have the best volunteer experience possible and we are able to best serve youth in Delta County, we ask that you fill out this brief survey. * Required

  • What we look for in a Volunteer

    • Ability to be a positive role model and educator to students of all ages
    • Flexible; last-minute changes are common and expected
    • Enthusiastic, patient and fun!
    • Follow directions from staff
    • Carry out time commitments required of program
    • Own transportation is preferred

    Winter Cross-country Skiing

    Location: Grand Mesa (other locations possible)

    Time Commitment: Full day

    Help with: Gear distribution; education stations (winter ecology, snow science topics); accompany groups on skis, encourage and assist participants; help NC staff efficiently put equipment back in trailer or bins for preparation of next trip.

    Audience: 4th and 6th graders are our standard audience for this program, however we do serve other ages and groups who request this programming. More specific information is provided once interest form is completed

  • Learn to Bike

    Fall & Spring

    Location: Schools & Local Trails

    Time Commitment: Varies; typically a half-day

    Help with: Gear distribution; skill-building concepts; accompany kids on bikes; one-on-one assistance; encourage and assist participants

    Audience: K-3rd graders are our standard audience for this program; there may be opportunities to volunteer for other field trips as well; more specific information and scheduling is provided once interest form is completed

  • Rock & Ropes

    Climbing & Team-building

    Location and time commitment: Varies

    Help with: Mobile wall at events; community nights at Cedaredge Middle School

    Audience: This program varies in age from school aged children to community members. More specific information is provided once interest form is completed
