    Appeal Letter Template Creation Wizard
  • This form will collect some information about you, your church, and your church's year-end giving priorities in order to generate a letter template that you can use to communicate your priorities to your church.

For this exercise and sample letter, we set this template up for three priorities. In your actual year-end giving challenge you may have only one or two components you wish to focus on. We find that focusing on two to three priorities creates a consistent culture and rhythm around a year-end giving challenge and gives your church direction on what their generosity is achieving. We recommend that your year-end giving challenge include no more than three but if that is not consistent with your needs then do what fits your church's culture and DNA. Keep in mind that you can edit your actual letter to have as many or as few components as you feel you need, but this template is set up for three components as a teaching exercise.

  • About Your Church

This section captures some basic information about your church.
  • About you

This section captures information about the leader who will be the sender of the letter. If you're filling out this form on behalf of the sender, please use the sender's information.

  • Year-end Giving Priorities

On the next three pages, you'll provide some information about three ministry priorities for your church's year-end giving. As you complete these sections, remember that you are writing to your church. We suggest you start with the most important priority and move down from there. Keep in mind that you can always edit your responses within the custom letter after you receive it. This exercise is designed to help you create an effective year-end giving challenge letter, but we expect and hope that you will adapt the final version to best fit your church’s culture and context.
  • Priority 1

For this exercise, let's assume the first year-end giving priority is to invest in a ministry outside of your church.
  • Priority 2

For this exercise, let's assume the second year-end giving priority is to invest in another ministry outside of your church.
  • Priority 3

For this exercise, let's assume the third year-end giving priority is to invest in your own church. Examples: debt reduction, build a reserve fund, a building project, a new staff position, etc.
