    The goal of the College’s admissions processes is to determine your potential to succeed in and gain benefit from the studies for which you are applying. We seek to do this in a way which gives appropriate support to you as an applicant and, potentially, as a student.

    Purpose of questions

    Most of the questions asked below enable the College to assess your suitability for the programme. In addition to those questions, as a UK Higher Education Institution registered with the Office for Students, we are also obliged to ask all applicants about other personal details. Together, the questions enable us to meet the highest standards as a college, particularly in supporting people from disadvantaged backgrounds and ensuring that we meet all regulatory requirements relating to equalities and diversity.

    Data Protection

    Any personal information you give to us will be processed in accordance with the UK GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation 2018). The information which you provide in your application form will be used for the following purposes: to enable the College to create a computer and paper record of your application; to enable the application to be processed; to enable the institution to compile statistics, or to assist other organizations to do so, as directed by the UK government. Data may be retained post-graduation for statistical reporting and marketing purposes. All information you provide will be kept securely, and will be kept no longer than necessary and no statistical information that would identify you as an individual will be published. Should your application be successful we will use your information in line with your student terms and conditions, which we ask you agree to when accepting an offer from Moorlands College. If you do not commence your studies at Moorlands College, we will hold data obtained during the application process for two years after the intended start year of the course for statistical reporting purposes. All information you provide will be stored and processed securely, in line with our privacy notice.

    Practical Tips

    On average, this form will probably take between 60–90 minutes to complete. You can always save your application and return to it later. You might find it easier to have some information to hand, before you make a start:

    • A passport-style photograph, ready to upload.
    • A list of your previous education and employment details.
    • A written statement, describing why you’re thinking about studying at Moorlands, and what major factors have helped you most in your personal growth and vocational development.
    • Contact details of two referees, who know you and your practice well.
