Shuttleworth's 2023 Season is coming!

The Shuttleworth Collection is located near Biggleswade in Bedfordshire, and has been putting on world class vintage airshows for over 30 years. We attract aviation enthusiasts from all over the world alongside numerous local visitors enjoying a family day out.

We are pleased to announce that we are now planning for our 2023 Air Show Season. Our Sunday air shows will include a range of ground activities including live entertainment, re-enactors, visiting exhibits and children's activities.

Sunday shows attract between 2,500 and 5,000 visitors, with each show themed to appeal to different audiences.

Our Saturday evening shows will give guests that chance to explore the site and all it has to offer, as well as explore on the ground activities, trade stands and our aircraft uncovered. 

We offer an outdoor trading area on grass for all our air shows (excluding Flying Proms) from May to October. However, please note that due to site logistics, we can no longer accommodate any indoor trading space in our hangars.

If you wish to stay overnight, camping is available on site, although please note this is an additional cost.

APPLICATION PROCESS

1. Please complete all sections of the application and include the following documentation: 

• Copy of Public Liability Insurance – minimum of £5 million
• Copy of Employers’ Liability Insurance (where applicable)
• Photograph of your trade stand / display
• Completed risk assessment form (download template here) or provide your own risk assessment documentation
• An approximate list of items to be displayed / sold with example pricing

2. The deadline for returning your application is Monday 27th March 2023. Any applications received after this date will be assessed on a case by case basis if trading space is available.

3. Trade spaces are limited on site, with each application being assessed individually on their product offering and relevance to each airshow theme; we no longer offer a first come first served policy.

4. Note: Applications without an accompanying photograph WILL NOT be considered.

5. If your application is successful, the allocation of your trade space will be confirmed in writing and you will be invoiced for the air shows you have been selected for. Your trade pitch will not be confirmed until payment is made. Shuttleworth reserve the right to reallocate the pitch unless payment is recieved.

6. We take payment by BACS only, and are no longer able to accept cheques or cash as a form of payment

7. Full arrival instructions and vehicle pass(es) for all the airshows you have been selected / booked for will be emailed to you within 7 days of each show

TRADE STAND INFORMATION & COSTS

OUTDOOR TRADE SPACE
Outdoor trading will be located altogether in one area on one of the grass paddocks. The layout for each air show is dependent on theme and other ground activity. 

Pitches will be allocated on arrival in a first come first basis. Each pitch includes space for one vehicle behind your stand. Additional vehicles are permitted to unload at their pitch before moving their vehicle to the allocated trader parking area.

PRICES
Fees cover the cost of the ground space only; you must provide your own stand and awning. 

Sunday Air Show - £80.00 per pitch

7th May, 4th June, 2nd July, 6th August, 3rd September, 1st October 

Saturday Air Show - £40.00 per pitch

20th May, 17th June, 15th July 

ALL SHOWS MUST BE PAID UPFRONT. YOUR PITCH WILL NOT BE RESERVED UNTIL PAYMENT IS RECIEVED.

PASS ALLOCATION
Each trader will be allocated 1 x vehicle pass as standard for each air show booked.

PAYMENT
Payment is required in full after we have confirmed that your application has been successful. All shows must be paid upfront, and your trade pitch is not reserved until payment is recieved. You will be provided with a link to make payment for your selected shows you wish to attend.See terms and conditions for cancellation charges.

 We aim for a neat look and to maximise space for our trading area, so will no longer provide dead space between trade stands. Therefore please ensure you include enough space to accommodate your marquee / stand, trailer, opening doors, tow bars, guy ropes, base plates etc., and space for any essential vehicles if they form part of your frontage. If using a marquee company, please check with your marquee company that the overall footprint of the marquee, including guy ropes and base plates, will fit within the space requested.

If you would like to camp for any of the air shows, you will need to complete a camping booking form. Please contact our Camping Manager for further details and to obtain a form: camping@shuttleworth.org.

You will need to provide copies of your insurance, a risk assessment and a photo with your application.

Public Liability / Employers' Liability Insurance:
Please provide details of your current liability insurance and attach a copy of the certificate with your application. If your insurance expires between air shows, please email or post your renewal details as required.

Risk Assessment:
Please provide a risk assessment with your application. This can be your own, or you can CLICK HERE to download a risk assessment template for completion. 

Photograph of Stand:
Please attach at least one photograph of your stand.

I have read and understood the terms and conditions and agree to abide by them if my trading application is successful. I understand submission of this application does not guarantee inclusion at any events. Should my application be successful, I understand I will be invoiced and required to submit the appropriate fees.

I understand that information from my application form will be stored digitally and that information may be published on the Shuttleworth website or social media accounts.

I certify that a suitable and sufficient risk assessment of hazards has been carried out and that where any residual risks remain, they have been reduced to the lowest level practicable.

On submission of your trader application, you will receive an automated confirmation email. Please be advised this does not guarantee entry, but after reviewing your application we will email to confirm whether your application has been successful.
