CONTEST FORMAT:
Double match, double elimination team tournament. A coin toss will determine which team goes first. Thereafter, the team that scores pitches first. One member of each team will pitch (3) washers each consecutively from one end toward the opposite end ensuring not to cross the outside edge of the cup nearest the opposite cup. After these washers have been pitched from each team member the score will be taken from the players on the opposite end. The team with the closest washers to the cup will score. The first team to score 21 points or more wins the game. No Skunks. No Busts.
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME for determining 1st and 2nd places.
Best 2 out of 3 match format.
WASHER AND COURT SPECIFICATIONS
Washer dimensions are 1" inside diameter by 2-1/2" outside diameter by 1/8" thick. (Washers will be provided; all contestants must play with washers provided.)
Two PVC pipe cups (3" ID 3-1/2" OD x 4" Long) are placed in the ground until the top of the cup is flush with the playing surface. The cups are placed 21' apart measuring from center of cup to center of cup. The ideal playing area should be 36" square and tamped as flat as possible.
Scoring
A washer landing inside the cup is called a Ringer, scores 5 points.
A washer hanging over the inside diameter of the cup is called a Leaner and is worth 3 points.
A washer closest to the cup but outside the cup scores 1 point.
Ringers cancel Ringers and the score will then be the next closest washer/washers to the cup receives the points.
Leaners cancel Leaners as well no matter the distance they are extended over the inside of the cup. The score will then be the next closest washer/washers to the cup to receive the points.
