Psst...thanks for completing this application! At first glance, you might think "sheesh, this is a little long - are all these questions really necessary?" I know, because I thought the same thing when I got my dogs! We hand-raise all of our puppies in our home and socialize them extensively for the 12 weeks they are in our care. All our puppies participate in Puppy Culture, a structured program based on the scientific evidence of how puppies grow and develop through their first 12 weeks of life. This program helps set your puppy up for the best success possible to be a happy, confident, and well-adjusted family member. We also engage in Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction with all puppies which has been proven by research to create more stable, balance, and well-temperamented puppies.

This application helps us identify which homes and lifestyles are best suited to a specific puppy's needs and temperament.

Please note that we accept applications on an ongoing basis. We plan for one litter per year, occassionally two, but it is not guaranteed that the breeding will take or how many pups we will have.

All information regarding the sire and dam of each litter is located on our website (still pending but our Facebook page is active). We publish all conformation and performance titles earned, results of all standard health testing, and photos of each dog (some formal, some candid!). Our dogs are tested for eyes, heart, Von Willebrand disease (VWD), degenerative myelopathy (DM), hips, elbows, and in some cases, patellas prior to being considered for our breeding program. Results are published on the OFA website and are publicly viewable with the CKC regisration number of each dog.

POLICY REGARDING DEPOSITS:

There is NO deposit required with your application. Once your application is approved, you will be placed on the puppy list in the order it is received. When I have a successful breeding, I will notify everyone on the list so you can start to discern whether this is a good time for a puppy if one is available. Once the puppies are two weeks old, I will contact individuals starting at the top of the list to let you know what is available. If you choose to accept a puppy from the litter, a $500.00 CAD non-refundable deposit is required within seven days. This deposit is non-refundable should circumstances change, but is valid indefinitely on a future litter. Please note you are not choosing a specific puppy at this time. Puppy placement will occur much later when they are older and their personalities begin to emerge.

Puppies will be ready to go home between 10-12 weeks and the balance is due before they leave.

VALIDITY OF YOUR APPLICATION:

We understand people's circumstances change. Financial circumstances, housing, health, and so much more. All applications are valid for two years assuming nothing has changed that would impact placement of your puppy, ie. selling your home and moving to a rental where pets are discretionary or prohibited. After two years we will confirm that all information is still correct and if so, it will be valid for a further two years. If it is not, a new application is required.

We know this is a very exciting time for our potential puppy buyers! You have found an ethical breeder and now you're ready to submit an application! No deposit is required until there is a puppy available for you. At that time a non-refundable deposit of $500.00CAD is required. The balance of $3,000 is due at the time of pick-up or prior to shipping.

We completely understand the desire for potential puppy parents to want to come and visit the puppies. I mean, who can resist all those adorable Corgi kisses?! For the comfort and safety of our puppies, we do not allow any visitors until the puppies have received their first set of vaccinations at eight weeks of age. We limit visitors to one family per day as to not over-stress the puppies, and require that you have not visited any other breeders within 72 hours of coming in order to minimize the risk of transmitting aireborne viruses.

While we do our absolute best to breed the healthiest puppies possible, illness and accidents can happen. Do you plan to purchase pet insurance or do you have the financial ability to cover veterinary bills which can be unpredictable? (We use and recommend Furkin Pet Insurance as they are affordable and offer reasonable coverage.)

This puppy can never be re-homed or euthanized (except in the case of severe, untreatable illness or at end-of-life). In the event you cannot keep your puppy, you agree to return him/her to the breeder without delay.*

What to expect
Completing this application is the first formal step in the process of acquiring a puppy from Cydweli Corgis but does not guarantee approval to purchase a puppy. While rare, the breeder reserves the right to refuse any placement at any time. Once your application is approved and the deposit received, you will be added to our Cydweli Corgi Family facebook page so you can follow updates on upcoming litters, ask questions of other Cydweli Corgi owners, and be provided with a sense of community as you embark on this new adventure! We will always do our best to offer you a puppy based on your preferences for colour and sex, but those features will never be the sole determinants of suitability. We breed for health, structure, and temperament, and will offer you the puppy we believe to be best suited to your desires and lifestyle. *We do not allow any puppy to leave our home prior to 12 weeks of age, without exception.*

When we breed a litter of puppies we do it very deliberately and with extreme consideration of the outcome of the puppies. We take their entire future very seriously and expect the same of all Cydweli Corgi Family members. As such, we entrust them only to the best homes possible.
