    About: Do you have a child who loves a challenge or would you like them to pass an exam in their instrument? In this event, students can "show what they know" to pass official levels of their instrument and receive special recognition for excellence. If they are performing in the recital, no extra preparation is required, and they can perform their recital pieces.

  • Please select your preferred date to attend the Recital. Performances last approximately 45 minutes. Your exact day and time will be assigned in a future email. We group recitals strategically based on the student and teacher needs, and to evenly distribute instruments. If you have time restrictions, there is a space to list those below, and we will honor them. Please consider if you are performing with another student in the academy and need to be in the same recital.*

  • Would you like to attend the Recital Prep Class in person on May 4th? You will be assigned a time once registration closes. Estimated class times are from 9am - 1pm, and each class will last approximately 60 minutes. Students can practice their pieces for a small audience of their peers at the same space as the formal recital. They will also learn about practice techniques, how to help alleviate nerves, and how to walk on and off a stage.
  • Would you like to attend the Recital Prep Class in person on May 3rd? Estimated class times are 5-8pm, and each class will last approximately 60 minutes. You will be assigned a time once registration closes. Students can practice their pieces for a small audience of their peers at the same space as the formal recital. They will also learn about practice techniques, how to help alleviate nerves, and how to walk on and off a stage.
  • Photo release: I give permission for Shining Star Music Academy to use any videos or photos taken of my child or children for social media or promotional purposes.*

    Recital times will be sent to you 3 weeks before the event.

    Festival performance and exam times will be sent to you approximately 2 weeks before the event. You will receive study materials for the theory exams soon.

    A NOTE FOR VOCALISTS:

    Please read the lyrics of any songs that will be performed. We usually perform in churches, and for families with small children, so selections must be appropriate. If you have any questions or needs please email us anytime.
