Nursing Mobility (LPN/Paramedic to ADN) Program Application

Thank you for your interest in Coastal Alabama's Nursing Program! Please note that no changes may be made to the application once it is submitted. If more than one application is submitted, only the latest application will be considered. I understand that completion of this application is a component of the student profile and does not in itself grant admission to the Nursing Program. I understand a new application must be submitted if I am not selected and wish to reapply. I certify that the information given in this application is true and correct. I understand that providing false information may be deemed sufficient reason to dismiss the student and/or to refuse admission. All application materials become the property of Coastal Alabama Community College. It is the sole responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the Nursing and Allied Health Department has received all of the requested documentation. If applying for another health program, documentation must be provided with each application. All information must be submitted by the appropriate deadline or the application will be considered incomplete. It is recommended that applicants check with the Admissions Office, at (251) 580-2111, to confirm active status and confirm all transcripts are on file and up to date. Minimum Admission Standards
1. Submit/resubmit an application to the College, if not currently enrolled in a course at Coastal Alabama.

2. Original transcripts from ALL previous post-secondary institutions attended, along with high school transcripts, must be received in the Registrar’s office by the application deadline. Post-secondary institutions include schools, colleges, technical institutes, or any facility offering education after graduation from high school. Unlike routine college admission, the Nursing Division does not allow one semester for receipt of transcripts. Transcripts must be sent directly from the institution’s Registrar to Coastal Alabama’s Registrar. Hand delivered or student copies of transcripts are not accepted.

3. Submit a completed Nursing Mobility (LPN/Paramedic to ADN) Program Application by the deadline.

4. Attach ACT score as outlined.

5. A minimum 2.5 GPA is required on a 4.0 scale based on the required academic core courses. Pre-requisites are ENG 101, MTH 100 or higher, BIO 201, BIO 202, SPH107, and PSY210.

6. Good standing with the College, including a minimum overall, cumulative GPA of 2.0.

7. Submit either a valid, unencumbered LPN Alabama or multi-state license or valid, unencumbered Alabama Paramedic license by August 1st. Proof of licensure is not required to submit the application; however, proof of licensure is required by August 1st to begin the program, if accepted. Proof of licensure may be emailed to Mrs. Alexis Phillips at alexis.phillips@coastalalabama.edu.

Nursing Mobility (LPN/Paramedic to ADN) Program Information
LPN students who successfully completed the Alabama Community College System concept-based PN curriculum within one year from start of the Mobility program are exempt from NUR 209. These students begin with NUR 211. All other students should enter the Mobility Program in NUR 209.

When will students be notified of admittance?
Letters are emailed to Coastal Alabama student email addresses within 6 weeks of the application deadline notifying whether or not the applicant is accepted into the nursing program. Please wait the entire 6-week period after the application deadline before contacting the nursing office regarding the status of an application.
