    You need a current Working with Children Check to volunteer at Pilgrim School and must have completed the RRHAN-EC Fundamentals (or Masterclass) course.

    1. Working with Children Check [COMPULSORY]: If you don't have a current WWCC, please email your legal first name, last name and date of birth to dolmans@pilgrim.sa.edu.au and we will initiate the clearance process for you (click the email address to open a new email)

    2. RRHAN-EC [COMPULSORY]: The Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education and Care Fundamentals course for volunteers can be accessed for free here.

    3. Protective Practices [HIGHLY RECOMMENDED]: online training can be completed for free here. This training aims to help you understand your duty of care, appropriate boundaries in your role, and how to utilise protective practices to safeguard children and yourself while volunteering.

    4. Catholic Police Clearance [COMPULSORY if volunteering across Campus]

    To make sure we meet our commitment to child safety, we need this information and declaration from you. If you have any questions about this declaration, please talk to one of the Pilgrim Leadership Team.

  • 3. Have you ever been the subject of allegations or an investigation or any other process relating to alleged misconduct by you as a volunteer or an employee?*
  • 4. Have you ever been the subject of allegations of inappropriate conduct of a violent or sexual nature towards or in relation to anyone?*
  • 5. Have you ever been refused a child related employment screening or working with children check in South Australia or in another Australian jurisdiction?*

  • Volunteer Agreement

  • As a volunteer at Pilgrim School, I agree to:

    • perform my volunteer role to the best of my ability;
    • complete required induction or training;
    • work under staff supervision and direction;
    • always think about the safety and wellbeing of children by:
      • following the Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education and Care requirements;
      • immediately reporting to the school Leadership Team any concerns I have about a child;
      • reporting any suspicion on reasonable grounds of child abuse and neglect to the Child Abuse Report Line ('CARL');
    • inform Pilgrim School as soon as possible if I can't make it in or need to stop volunteering;
    • follow all Pilgrim policies, procedures, guidelines and expectations relevant to my role;
    • report any workplace health and safety concerns;
    • follow legislation and reasonable, lawful directions that relate to my role;
    • advise the school as soon as possible if any information I have given is no longer accurate.
  • In signing and submitting this volunteer form, I acknowledge and agree to the responsibilities as a volunteer as listed above, and the following:

    • I understand that if I do not comply with this agreement, my permission to volunteer can be withdrawn;
    • volunteers who visit Pilgrim School are responsible for their own ambulance insurance cover;
    • in case of emergency, I authorise Pilgrim School to coordinate medical assistance on my behalf to the extent the attending Pilgrim School staff deem appropriate - that may include an ambulance for which I undertand that I will be financially responsible;
    • I have read the Volunteer Guidelines and Code of Conduct (click here) and agree to abide by its contents;
    • this agreement can be cancelled by either Pilgrim School staff or myself at any time.
