The Healthy Kids Running Series Board of Directors governs the overall execution of the organization’s mission. Principally, the board manages organizational finances and sets long-term priorities for programs.
Additionally, the board selects, oversees, and evaluates the performance of the Executive Directors, who are responsible for the day-to-day management of the Healthy Kids Running Series programs. Overall, the members of the Board contribute legal and financial skills needed to ensure long-term organizational stability and excellence.
The Board of Directors has up to 9 voting members. Terms are for two years (renewable).
Board member responsibilities include attendance at three in-person meetings per year, as well as teleconference meetings and active electronic conversations as part of board committees. Board members also hold fiduciary responsibility for managing organizational capital and ensuring appropriate filings with federal, state, and local authorities consistent with The Healthy Kids Running Series’ status as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
