Finlandia Foundation National (FFN) awards this scholarship for the 2025-26 school year beginning in fall term/semester. To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must meet ALL of the following requirements. Deadline to apply is Feb. 1, 2025.

FFN will review all applications received. Applications not meeting all of the following requirements will be disqualified. FFN will notify successful and unsuccessful applicants in April 2025. In late summer 2025, FFN will ask scholarship award winners to provide proof of enrollment for the 2025-26 school year beginning in fall term/semester 2025. Scholarship awards will be paid after school starts in early fall 2025 to scholarship winners who provide the required proof of enrollment.
Qualification Requirements: This scholarship is for the 2025-26 school year beginning in fall term/semester. To qualify for this scholarship award a candidate shall:
• Be a High School graduate.
• Be an enrolled student in an accredited college or university in the United States or Finland. Accredited colleges and universities in the United States are those which are accredited by federally recognized accrediting agencies. These accrediting agencies are listed on the U.S. Department of Education's website in their database of Accredited Postsecondary Institutions and Programs.
• Obtain sophomore or higher status prior to receiving the scholarship award.
• Be enrolled as a full-time student, or pursuing a graduate or professional degree full-time or part-time during the 2025-26 school year.
• Be a citizen of the United States or Finland.
• Maintain a grade point average of 3.0 in post-secondary studies.
• Submit a completed application form, latest official college/university transcripts including date issued, and the student's and school’s names on the transcripts, and two letters of recommendation. One of the letters of recommendation shall be from a current college/university faculty member and shall be on school’s letterhead. Note: FFN does not accept letters from high school faculty in place of letters from college/university faculty.
Eligibility Requirements:
• A scholarship award shall not be funded for two consecutive years. For example, if you received a scholarship from FFN for the 2024-25 school year, you are not eligible for a FFN scholarship for the 2025-26 school year.
• The maximum number of FFN scholarships awarded to one applicant is three.
• Immediate family members of current FFN Trustees (defined as parents, spouse, domestic partner, children and grandchildren) are not eligible to apply for a scholarship.
