  • The Eucharist at Clericus gatherings is generally a simple service. The following guidelines are meant to help the clergy and leadership of host congregations as they set up for the gatherings and plan for the service. Feast/Observance:

  • Celebrant: The Bishop will celebrate, unless he is traveling, in which case the Canon to the Ordinary will celebrate. If the Canon to the Ordinary is likewise unavailable one of the members of the Clericus planning committee or the priest of the host congregation will celebrate.

  • Participants: The rector/vicar/priest-in-charge of the host congregation normally assists the celebrant by reading the Gospel, leading the Prayers of the People, setting the table, and assisting in the distribution of communion by administering the chalice. The Canon to the Ordinary will be prepared to assist as needed.

  • Eucharistic Prayer. The service is generally Rite II, but the Rite and the Eucharistic Prayer will be chosen at the discretion of the celebrant:
