  • How Laser Hair Removal Works :

-Laser hair removal involves the use of a non-invasive Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) laser device for the reduction of facial or body hair.

-There are 3 stage cycles to every hair, laser hair removal targets the hairs that are in the "active stage" of growth to heat and disable.

-Hair that has pigment such as black, brown, medium brown, light brown or auburn coloured hair, has the most success.

-Laser hair removal does not work on hairs that are grey, blond, or ginger red.

-The procedure of laser hair removal requires more than one session. The amount of laser hair removal sessions vary per individual depending on the amount of hair, density, &/or color. However, on average, we recommend around 9-12 sessions, 4-6 weeks apart to stay on track to properly catch the hair stages for optimal success of reduction.

-Once having a laser hair removal treatment, the hairs that were targeted will fall out 5-7 days post treatment. Most all clients see dramatic reduction after the first treatment so the process is fantastic the moment you decide to go this method of hair removal.

-Laser hair removal is not completely permanent, about 85% or more reduction is average after a full series.  There is a possibility that hormonal changes can potentially allow some hair follicles to become active again and a once a year session may be needed for maintenance.

-If you are nervous about how the process will feel .. trust that it is VERY mildly discomforting. A feeling of a snap of an elastic band with some warmth.

    Pre Treatment:

-Prior to undergoing treatment, one must avoid over-exposure to sunlight or use of self tanning creams or tanning beds 2 weeks prior to the treatment date. Tanned skin is more susseptable to being unable to have treatment.

-The area to be treated must be shaved 24 hrs or less prior to the appointment date. If the area is not shaved, we may shave the area and only if time allows, so please just do your best and no worries if there are some missed spots on hard to reach places.

-Please do not wax, tweeze, or use hair-removing creams less than 4 weeks before treatment. that can affect by greatly decreasing the efficacy of laser hair removal treatments.

-Please check for any medications that may be photo-sensitive. There are some medications that can affect the skin's photosensitivity and therefore can be dangerous when undergoing any laser treatment. Please check all medications, it should be listed on the prescription of photo sensitive.

    Post Treatment:

-Avoid scratching, touching, or picking on your skin's treated area as this may get irritated or infected.

-Avoid any hot tubs for 24hrs post treatment. Avoid tanning beds or being exposed under the intense sun for 7 days post treatment as treated skin is much more sensitive to burning. This may also cause hyper pigmentation on the treated area. SPF is highly recommended.

  • What is your nationality of background and colour of your skin? Very deep skin tones, including deeper Indo-Canadian, African & Black skin tones are NOT suitable for laser hair removal. The laser can be absorbed by the skin as well as the hair, which raises the risk of burns and pigment changes. Your safety comes first.
