PRODUCTION ATTENDANCE POLICY:
YTN understands that today's families are incredibly busy balancing all sorts of schedules. However, to maintain a positive and equitable production experience for the entire cast and set each actor up for success, it is essential that actors honor their commitment to the production at the time they accept their role offer. Additional and last-minute conflicts cause not only disruptions to the carefully planned rehearsal process, and can become unmanageable for the director and stage manager to track and rearrange the schedule.
To maintain the integrity of the production, conflicts given after casting is finalized are accepted at the discretion of the director. If a student has more than 2 unexpected or unapproved absences (aside from illness and family emergencies), we may decide to change an actor’s role and possibly even eliminate their participation in the production.
That said, we also understand that there are unforeseen circumstances that arises between the casting and the first day of rehearsal, particularly for productions that do not start right away. We ask that you reach out to us as soon as possible so that we can resolve the issue together.
