Background: The Fortify the Force Initiative Team (FFIT) was established at CORONA Fall 2021. The Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force (CMSAF) and Chief Master Sergeant of the Space Force (CMSSF) proposed its establishment, which was endorsed by attendees including the Secretary of the Air Force, Undersecretary of the Air Force, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, and Chief of Space Operations.
Organization: The FFIT is an organization for Airmen, Guardians, and Families, led by Airmen, Guardians, and Families. The FFIT is inclusive of all ranks and demographics across the Department of the Air Force and structured to integrate organizations passionate about resiliency and mental health efforts. Its organizational structure is built to link Airmen and Guardians in the field directly to decision makers, accelerating actionable initiatives to create meaningful impact as quickly as possible.
FFIT Champions: The FFIT is jointly championed by the CMSAF and CMSSF. Champions are charged to carry key messages to DAF decision makers and leverage their position and influence to advocate for the FFIT’s initiatives. The Champions will provide direct mentorship to the FFIT and will be informed on the team’s efforts through regular direct updates from the FFIT.
