Your Special Helper is a non-medical home and community care agency that helps seniors, youth with unique needs and their caregivers to live happier, healthier and independent lives. Your Special Helper provides a range of support services that includes personal assistance, respite care, companion care and more.
We are looking for new Companion Caregivers and Personal Care Assistants to serve clients in Dallas County and surrounding areas. The position is a non-medical and non-skilled role that provides support with Assisted and Instrumental Daily Living Activities. Companion Caregiver tasks may include the following:
Responsibilities:
Engage clients in conversation, hobbies, and social events/activities
Assist with meal preparation and/or feeding support.
Performing light housekeeping tasks (dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, washing and ironing laundry.)
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
Assist with small tasks around the home
Accompanying clients to non-emergency appointments
Qualifications:
Must have a current and valid driver license
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must pass Background checks
Ability to lift, push or pull 25 pounds.
Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel and reach.
Ability to care for clients with ultimate dignity, respect and compassion.
Ability to adjust to various living environments and locations.
Ability to provide own transportation between client site locations.
Ability to model patience and efficient communication between clients, caregivers and agency office staff.
This position is part-time with potential for growth. Pay $12-14hour
