  • We encourage some financial sacrifice on your part yet recognize the difficulty of paying for the entire cost of the trip on your own. We encourage you to seek the Lord for your financial needs and as the Lord leads, make your needs known to your pastor or mission’s leader, friends, or family.

  • What You Should Be Aware Of

  • Your trip may involve strenuous activity, lots of heat, dust, and a substantial amount of walking. Do you believe this will cause you any health issues?*
  • You may be exposed to unique foods that are common in different cultures. Are you willing to eat what is served?*
  • Will this cause you any health issues?*
  • You will need to have a flexible attitude as schedules and activities may need to change according to the missionaries you are serving. Do you believe you will be able to maintain flexibility and a good attitude if plans need to be changed?*
  • Because of the distractions that cell phones and social media present, we ask that you limit your time on your phone and social media to times that the leader specifies. Will you be committed to limiting your use and accepting instruction from group leaders about your use so as not to miss an opportunity of service that may present itself?*
  • We ask that your attire be modest for both men and women. The host culture, home congregation, and BMA's expectations will all be contributing factors for the definition of modest. We ask the men to have short hair and wear long pants and shirts with sleeves. We ask the women to wear skirts or dresses that cover the knees while standing and sitting. Women must also wear a head covering of substantial size. For both men and women, refrain from wearing tight clothing, decorative jewelry, wristbands, wedding bands, nail polish or makeup that alters your natural appearance.   • It is very important to respect the culture and what the leaders and host may ask of you. Are you willing to respect any guidelines you are given before and/or during your trip in order to help the work the missionaries are doing in the area you are serving?*

  • If you cancel your trip after tickets have already been purchased, you will still be responsible to pay the ticket amount and any other funds (travel insurance, etc.) that STM is not able to recover of your portion of the trip.
