Things to consider:
- Please check the instructor and desired aircraft schedule on Flight Schedule Pro before submitting.
- The Scheduling Manager's hours of operation are 6:00am - 2:00pm Monday through Friday.
- Please have all requests in by 1:00pm for next day scheduling. For same day and weekend scheduling call 802-990-0701 (Phone coverage not guaranteed)
- Check Flight Schedule Pro early and often! Things change a lot, and we will do our best to keep you informed. Stay ahead of the power curve and monitor your reservations on Flight Schedule Pro.
- If you have not flown at VFA within the last 90 days, you must conduct a refresher flight with a CFI.
Reservation Types:
- Standard with Instructor - This is our standard flight block for training. It provides 30 minutes prior with instructor, followed by 1.5 hours flight time and 15 minutes debrief. This is used for all private and instrument training.
- Rental (Standard) - The standard block for renting an aircraft is 2 hours.
- Rental (Extended) - Rental block for flights projected to be longer than 2 hours. This will be heavily subject to availability. Rental flights do not take priority over training flights.
- Flight Review - This is a broad term used as a 3-hour block with an instructor. Examples of this include flight review, instrument proficiency checks, class Charlie / Burlington airspace practice, checkout flight for rental requests, refresher, profiency flights, etc. From this flight you will be able to coordinate with your instructor to see if more training is needed / desired.
- Cross Country / Long Flights - These will have a defaulted instructor time of 30 minutes prior & 15 minutes after flight. Please use the additional comments section at the bottom of the form to provide the estimated flight time and destination. Please do not request without a destination: the reservation will not be booked.
- Stage Check / Checkride - Use additional comments to detail the program and stage. For checkrides, the DPE will still need to be requested / notified, this section is just for the aircraft. Note the desired aircraft, where the checkride will be taking place, and how long the aircraft will need to be booked for.
- Other - any flight not listed above. Use the additional comments section at the bottom of the form to add any details.
