I've been in the fitness industry for over 10 years now & nutrition 8 years.
MY WHY?
Why nutrition? Why macros? Why movement & fitness? Why a step goal?
Like so many of you out there, we were brought up in a heavily diet cultured society & crash diets were deemed normal. Being in the fitness industry from a very young age, gym talk was always diet talk, what's the latest diet trend, tea diet, fat only diet, low carb diet, fasting diet, fruit only, meal plan only, 600 -1200 calorie diets etc! Honestly the industry TALK drained the reason for my WHY! I personally went to the gym to have my 'ME TIME' to chase my passion to work out for me and to enjoy it! I went there also to teach group exercise, to share my passion & to motivate others to WANT to workout. I got used to the diet/fat loss & muscle gain talk, I continued to teach & then found myself and what I stood for as I got older. I then left the gym culture, lifting was never my cuppa tea so I chased my love for teaching. I worked around Europe & now Canada teaching on retreats & at specific class related studios teaching group exercise. No gym talk, just high energy, positive vibe fitness classes filled with people who WANT to WORKOUT & Want to ENJOY it.
But why nutrition? Again, once I got older, I realized how many people still diet on a regular basis, how many people LIVE on a diet, how many people still crash diet, how many people undereat & overeat and how many people use exercise as a punishment! Because fitness & nutrition has been a permanent passion of mine, it's always been hard for me to watch people put themselves through tough times with diet & exercise when I KNOW there is a healthier & happier way to do it.
I have so many loved ones in my life that are constantly yo yo dieting (which is dangerous for our health) never mind the crazy fad diets they do. I want to teach people balance through daily movement so exercise isn't used as a punishment or seen as a chore! One moment it's 10 classes a week or running 10k and then the next thing you know they aren't exercising at all.
People often ask me, why do you do that daily? why do you eat like that? how do you eat that much & how do I motivate myself to continue? Honestly... IT'S EASY!
DON'T JUDGE UNTIL YOU HAVE TRIED IT < THIS SHIT ACTUALLY WORKS!!
I move daily because it makes me feel GOOD inside & out! And who doesn't want to feel a little better even if it's just 1%!! For me a step goal brings balance, keeps me active & energised and most importantly this daily movement keeps the extremes (over training) away within fitness. Just like my daily movement, I take on the same approach for nutrition. I eat in a balanced way each day (80/20) so I never need to crash diet or FEEL the need to diet (which I love!) Having food balance is a huge struggle for many people! BUT once you gain that balance you gain SO MUCH & MACROS could be the reason to finding your balance! For me, having food balance in everyday life means I have the freedom to enjoy date nights, pizza & prosecco nights with the girls, spontaneous days out & to be able to just enjoy life!! Without the stress of feeling like I have fallen off track or ruined my progress and because of the movement I implement into my daily life, I certainly do not feel the need to do extra cardio or go to the gym...and this a massive issue for many people.
For me this is what works. I have created daily healthy habits through movement & nutrition which allows for me to enjoy life whislt maintaining health & personal goals. I stand by consistency & balance over yo yo diets & inconsistant exercise routines ANYDAY.
SO THAT IS MY WHY!
I AM HERE TO HELP THOSE THAT WANT THE HELP ❤️ TO TEACH EVERYDAY BALANCE..SO WE CAN STOP THIS YO YO DIET & EXERCISE CYCLE THAT SO MANY PEOPLE ARE CAUGHT UP IN.
If you are someone who finds themselves over exercising some months & chasing the latest diet the next ....
JUST KNOW....
You can do it healthily, you can achieve goals & eat your favourite foods!
Balance is there IF you want it.
Having a step goal & getting that daily movement in is just ONE way to stop the extremes within fitness. Balance is all about EVERYDAY healthy habits we can be consistent at without sacrificing our HEALTH or goals!
Personally, I wish I'd learn't about macros alot sooner, because the science behind nutrition can really alter the way we eat, how we look at food, how we feel inside and how we look on the outside. So if I can save you some time and share with you my knowledge & positives from macros I'm here to help! It's time to Stop the over exercising & under fuelling or over consuming on what our body doesn't actually need!
