• CHREDA Fee Schedule 2025-2026

CHREDA - Christian Education Association of Alberta
  • Fort Christian is a fully public, alternative program within Elk Island Public Schools. Because it is an alternative program, funds are collected to cover the additional cost of the Christian components that Alberta Education does not cover.

The society that governs the Christian program is The Christian Education Association of Alberta (CHREDA).

CHREDA is governed by a volunteer board of directors comprised of volunteer parents, FSAC church elder and FSCS administration (principal & assistant principal).

  • New families to Fort Christian:

  • What's the difference between EIPS fees and CHREDA fees?

The government of Alberta provides funding for each student to study the Alberta Curriculum. Christian Programming is considered an alternative program within this infrastructure and must raise its own funds to cover the costs of this specialized programming that Alberta Education does not cover.

Elk Island Public School fees (payable through your Parent Portal) cover regular programming costs such as: Kindergarten supply fees, field trips (non-faith based), materials for options, sports fees, yearbooks, etc.

These fees are charged on a cost-recovery basis. Families may also be required to pay fees for student transportation.

  • How can I get involved with CHREDA?

Contact the CHREDA office at (780) 998-7044 or email board@chreda.ca for more
information. CHREDA’s Annual General Meeting is open to all members and this information is sent via email to all members. All parents and staff are members of the CHREDA Society.

CHREDA meets once a month with the principals to discuss inititatives and the overall Christian program outcomes.

  • How can I get involved with Parent Council?

Contact the school office at (780) 998-7044 or email any of the office staff for more
information. Being on Parent Council gives you input in the school activities. This council meets monthly with the principals.
