The Artist Program is a core part of the historic Workhouse Arts Center in the greater Washington DC area. The 80+ artists at Workhouse comprise several groups: Studio Artists, who sublease one of 50 studios on campus; Arches Gallery Artists, associate artists who pay pay a $45 monthly fee to exhibit and operate on campus; and Emerging Artists and Resident Artists, who sublease studios in the Glass and Ceramics programs.
This application is for Arches Gallery Artists submissions.
ENTRY GUIDELINES
This open call facilitates submissions from parties interested in having a non-studio display space at Workhouse. There is no deadline for entries and applicants will be notified within 2 months of their submission date. Selections will be made based on images and information submitted on the entry form. Jurors are not required to provide feedback.
The entry fee is $30.00.
Please Note: All applicants must be prepared to interview with staff/jurors via Zoom if their juror ratings are high enough. Applications are rated on composition, concept, technical skill, originality, and professional practices.

At least 5 full-size images of artwork, maximum 10 full-size images. The images must be professional quality JPEG images in 2400 x 3000 pixels. Images must be smaller than 5MB.
TERMS OF ENTRY
Photography and Permissions: The artist verifies he/she owns or has copyright(s) to the artwork being submitted and therefore allows Workhouse Arts Center to display the artwork in its galleries. If accepted, the artist provides approval to Workhouse Arts Center to photograph or use submitted photographs of the artwork for advertising, educational or archival purposes online and in print without monetary compensation. Images of artwork may be cropped to fit advertisements and credits will be included when possible.
Sales: A 30% commission on sales will be taken by Workhouse Arts Center. The artist must provide a federal W-9 tax form to receive their 70%.
