Student/Guardian Expectations for District-Provided Chromebook Use

Student Responsibilities:

1. I understand that the care of my Chromebook is my responsibility. 
2. I will protect my Chromebook by keeping it in the case at all times. 
3. I will be careful when inserting and removing cords and cables. 
4. I will not place decorations (such as stickers, markers, etc.) on my Chromebook or case. 
5. I will never loan my Chromebook to other individuals. 
6. I will keep food and beverages away from my Chromebook since they may cause damage to the device. 
7. I will not expose my Chromebook to extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. 
8. I will not delete any school installed applications or software. 
9. I will not disassemble any part of my Chromebook or attempt any repairs. 
10. I will use my Chromebook in ways that are educational and appropriate. 
11. I will follow the Lakeview Public Schools Acceptable Use Policy.
12. I understand that my Chromebook remains the property of Lakeview Public Schools. 
13. I will file a police report in case of theft, vandalism, and other acts covered by optional district-provided insurance OR our family’s personal insurance. 
14. I will notify the Media Aide if the Chromebook is broken or I cannot get it to work. 
15. I agree to return my Chromebook, case, power cords, and accessories in good working condition upon graduation or disenrollment from LPS.
16. I will know where my Chromebook is at all times. 

 

Parent/Guardian Responsibilities: 

1. I will supervise my student’s use of the Chromebook at home.  
2. I will discuss our family's values and expectations regarding the use of the Internet and email at home.  
3. I will supervise my student’s use of the Internet and email. 
4. I will not attempt to repair the Chromebook, nor will I attempt to clean it with anything other than a soft, dry cloth. 
5. I will ensure that my student reports to the school’s Media Aide any problems with the Chromebook.  
6. I will make sure my student recharges the Chromebook battery nightly. 
7. I will make sure my student brings the Chromebook to school every day.  
8. I understand that if my student comes to school without the Chromebook, I may be called to bring it to school.  
9. I agree to return the Chromebook to school if requested and upon my student’s disenrollment or graduation from Lakeview Public Schools.  
10. In the event of loss or theft, I will notify school personnel within 24 hours.
