Our program provides children with the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, which benefit both their emotional and physical skills. The goal of our Day Camp is to provide the campers with activities that are safe, fun and that allow for positive experiences.

    STAFF

Beagle Scouts Summer Camp staff comes from a variety of backgrounds with each one being selected based upon their interpersonal skills as well as their experience with children. All staff are 18 years or older and have early childhood or recreation experience. All staff is CPR, First Aid, and AED certified.

    SUPERVISION

All campers will be under the direct supervision of counselors at all times. No persons under 18 years of age shall be responsible for any group of children. No child will be left unattended outdoors at any time. Only a parent/guardian or an individual who is on the pickup permission slip may check out campers.

    DROP-OFF and PICK-UP

Parents are to drop off by The Castle Playground at Kenneth Hanh starting at 9:00 am. If someone on your pick-up list will be picking up your child, they will be asked to show picture identification. There will be NO drop offs before 9:00 am unless registered for our early drop off program.

Late Pick Up Policy – All summer campers should be picked up by 1:00 pm unless they are signed up for our after care program, in which case campers will be picked up no later than 2:00 p.m. Parents, who are late due to unforeseen circumstances must call to alert the camp. To avoid situations like these, we encourage parents to have a backup plan that would allow their child/children, with prior approval, to go home with a neighboring parent or a relative listed as authorized to pick up your child from the facility.

The following procedure will be used for parents who violate the pick-up policy.

First Infraction – Late charge of $1.00 per child every minute beginning at 1:01p.m for regular day camp or 2:01 p.m. for after care pick ups.

Second Infraction – Grounds for one-week suspension from program.

Third Infraction- Grounds for dismissal from program.

Late charges are due no later than the end of the week in which the infraction occurs. Non-payment of late charges may result in suspension of the child/children from the program. We ask parents to be respectful and courteous regarding this policy.

In accordance with our Mandated Reporter status, if a child is left and we have not heard from a parent, or if a parent cannot be reached, and no one is available to pick up your child, The LA DCFS office will be asked to come and transport that child to a safe location.

    ABSENCES

If your child is going to be absent from camp for the day, please call the program director (747) 308-5137 or bring a note the day before.  You may also email us at beagle.scouts92@gmail.com

    MEDICATIONS

Any medication to be administered must be in a prescription-labeled bottle and have a physician signed note stating the type of medication, frequency of dosage and amount to be given. A medication form must be on file. No exceptions will be made to this rule. It is in the best interest of your child to have any medications properly administered.

    EMERGENCY CALLS

    1.      Program Director (747) 308-5137

    SICK CHILD

At Summer Day Camp, medical services are minimal. We stock only first aid medical supplies. If a sick child arrives at camp, we will assume the illness began at home. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR SICK CHILD TO CAMP. This can spread infection throughout the group and staff. We have no facilities in the camp in which to keep a sick child, and will therefore call you to come pick your child up immediately. Children who come to camp with dressings are encouraged to have them changed during the day. Please inform us by note if the dressing is not to be changed.

BEAGLE SCOUTS DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL INSURANCE FOR ITS PARTICIPANTS. INSURANCE IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARENTS. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE INSURANCE, BEAGLE SCOUTS STRONGLY SUGGESTS YOU OBTAIN IT PRIOR TO CAMP.

    CONCERNS

Any concerns or comments should be addressed with the Camp Director.

    LUNCH & SNACKS

Campers are required to bring a packed lunch and snack. Lunch and snacks, both should be clearly labeled with your child’s name. An afternoon snack is also needed for the campers who will be staying for our after care program.
