Fairy Foraging Waiver

Liability Waiver and Photography/Media Consent

The following waiver is for our collective safety as we embark into the beautiful food forest together. I will repeat and specify how to identify certain species to be sure of their edibility and you will gain ways to continue this learning for yourself by creating spore prints, engaging with other community scientists, and using all of your senses to connect with and explore flora and funga we share this earth with! It is important to remember the goal is not to just physically harvest all that a space has to offer, but take every foraging walk as an opportunity to dive deeper into a symbiotic relationship with our more than human ancestors and neighbors. This means being aware of not leaving trash, not taking all of a mushrooms fruiting body before it matures, and being respectful and kind to fellow participants.

I understand that my participation in forest tours, workshops, classes or events, or any related activity conducted by Hani Esther Indictor Portner at Fairy foraging is voluntary and at my own risk. I have been instructed on appropriate clothing to bring to protect myself against ticks and mosquitos. I am aware that eating mushrooms and plants I have not properly cooked, identified and stored can result in injury, gastric upset, or cause of death. I will not eat any new mushroom or plant I have not properly identified with at least three sources and I will always get to know new species with reverence and respect. I will not eat more than a euro coin sized amount of a mushroom I have never tried before so I can test how it reacts with my own microbiome. I understand that I will be given instructions on how to identify edible mushrooms and plants and will only eat species I am confident in their identity by specifying where they grow, what they look like in a cross section, what color their spores are, etc. I understand that one has to be very careful because some mushrooms you only eat once...I will always ask in a mushroom forum to get more information if I am unsure, and never "munch on a hunch" I will not eat raw mushrooms or plants unless otherwise explicitly stated during the walk and take upon all responsibility of the result of not following these directions. I relieve Fairy Foraging/Hani Portner for any responsibily of the consequences of not heading this warning and will not pursue legal action if I do not listen.

I consent to Hani photographing and/or filming me and for these images or videos to be used for marketing and other promotional uses, including (but not limited to) its associated social media sitesI do not consent to having my photo taken. Please avoid taking photos of me and delete them if you accidently take one and see me in the frame

Covid Saftey

I will take an at home test and text the results in the group chat the morning of the event so that I can keep people safe. I will keep on my FFP2 mask during the event. I will not come if I am feeling sick or ill or met with someone feeling sick the past week.
