ISLAND CAMPS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Island Camps offers a scholarship program to help provide greater access to our surf or skate camps. Our mission is to the share the love of water sports, surf or skate, educational, and wellness experiences.
How our scholarships are distributed:
- The Kiwanis Club of Deerfield Beach accepts, reviews, and awards all scholarships.
- Scholarships are based primarily on financial need on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Scholarship funds can be issued towards day camps and week -long camps but do not apply to aftercare or any additional services.
- Scholarships are awarded for skate camp and the Deerfield Beach surf camp only
- Any information found to be fraudulent will result in loss or denial of scholarship award.
- Any information found to be fraudulent will result in loss or denial of scholarship award.
- Completion of application does not guarantee assistance.
- Camp scholarships will be awarded based on eligibility, funding, timeliness, and availability.
- Scholarships are awarded for one week of camp at a time.
- Award recipients must respond within TWO WEEKS of receiving notification to accept their scholarship award and register for camp.

Applications require at least one proof of income for each adult living in the household. The following are accepted forms of income verification for the scholarship program:
- Front page of most recent Federal 1040 tax return (preferred form of income verification)
- Two most recent pay check stubs
- Social Security income benefit

- Disability income benefit statement
- Public assistance income benefit

- Child support income
- Alimony income
- Foster care income
The following are NOT acceptable forms of income verification for the scholarship program and will not be considered:
- Bank statements
- Food stamp income
- Single pay check stub (must provide at least two)
- Personal letters
This application and required income documentation are confidential information and will be used only for scholarship recommendations by the Island Camps manager and the City of Deerfield Beach Kiwanis Club. Applicants agree to refrain from discussing awards with others.
Upon completing this application, you will receive a confirmation email. This confirmation does not guarantee a scholarship. Please allow two week for the application to be reviewed.
