TERMS & CONDITIONS
The Bird Wellness Program is designed to educate owners about their animal’s health and wellness, with the aim of helping pets live longer, healthier and happier lives. The subscription promotes veterinary services and products for the benefit of its members and sources related discounts for subscribers. The Bird Wellness Program is not a pet insurance service.
The subscription is limited to goods and services provided by Burwood Bird & Animal Hospital and excludes goods and services from organisations not operated by Burwood Bird & Animal Hospital.
Each subscription is restricted to one animal and is not transferable to another animal. A person may hold multiple subscriptions if they own more than one animal and choose to subscribe for multiple individual animals.
Subscription fees are set by Burwood Bird & Animal Hospital and are payable by direct debit authority from the subscriber’s nominated bank account or credit card. OpenPay, VetPay or similar credit services may not be used to pay subscription fees.
On 1 July each year, the yearly subscription amount will be reviewed. Subscribers will be advised of any price increase, which will take effect from the anniversary date of the subscription.

Each subscription is valid for a period of 12 months and includes a 3 month cooling off period.
Burwood Bird & Animal Hospital will send a renewal reminder before automatically renewing the subscription on the anniversary date for a further 12 month period. It is the subscriber’s responsibility to ensure any change of contact details is communicated to Burwood Bird & Animal Hospital.
A dishonour fee of $10 will apply if a direct debit instalment is dishonoured by the subscriber’s bank. This fee will be charged with the next direct debit drawing.
The Bird Wellness Program is intended as a preventative health and wellness subscription service aimed at supporting routine veterinary care and early health screening.
A 7 day activation period applies from the commencement date of all new subscriptions before any subscription benefits, discounts, consultations, diagnostic testing or treatments may be redeemed.
Subscription benefits may not be applied retrospectively to consultations, products or services provided prior to the completion of the activation period.
Subscription fees must be paid in full and the 7 day activation period completed before any subscription benefits may be redeemed.
A subscription may be terminated before the end of the 12 month period by Burwood Bird & Animal Hospital if a client breaches the clinic’s code of conduct policies, including but not limited to:
abusive behaviour towards clinic staff or other clients
repeated short notice cancellations
repeated failure to attend scheduled appointments
A subscriber may choose to terminate their subscription before the end of the 12 month period during the 3 month cooling off period or in the event of the death of their pet.
If a subscription is terminated before the end of the 12 month period, a refund will only be provided for any amount remaining after deducting the full retail value of any subscription benefits already redeemed during that period.
Included “free consultations” are limited to standard veterinary consultations not exceeding 30 minutes in duration and conducted by a registered veterinarian or veterinary nurse employed by Burwood Bird & Animal Hospital.
Free consultations exclude:
behavioural consultations
AQIS consultations
contracted specialist consultations
Any additional fees resulting from a consultation, including but not limited to diagnostic testing, medications, procedures or surcharges, remain the responsibility of the owner on the day of consultation.
If a client provides less than 24 hours cancellation notice or fails to attend a booked appointment, this will count as one of the included consultations.
Subscription benefits may not be used in conjunction with other promotions or offers provided by Burwood Bird & Animal Hospital. Where multiple discounts may apply, the most beneficial offer to the client will be used.
Annual Subscription Benefits
A Bird Wellness Program subscription entitles the subscriber to receive the following annual benefits:
One wellness blood screen OR disease screening test
One wellness faecal analysis
One parasite treatment as recommended by the avian veterinarian
Up to 4 standard consultations within a 12 month period
One microchip implant and CAR registration (if the animal is not already microchipped)
10% discount on other goods and services sold or provided by Burwood Bird & Animal Hospital during the subscription period
Benefits not used within the applicable 12 month subscription period do not roll over into subsequent subscription periods.
Subscription benefits are reviewed annually on 1 July and may be amended at the discretion of Burwood Bird & Animal Hospital. Subscribers will be notified of any significant changes affecting their membership.
