Access Opportunity supports aspiring young leaders who are committed to working hard and making a difference in the lives of others. Our students often have a vision that is bigger than college attainment and aimed at creating change in their communities. In addition to a $10,000 scholarship, we provide wraparound support to high-achieving students from low-income households in the Denver metro area, helping them navigate each step of their college and career journey.
Nominations help us reach students who may not know that college is possible and support is available for students from low-income backgrounds. Our ultimate goal is to help our students, their families, and their communities realize their full potential.
Nominate students who:
- Are in 10th grade at a high school in the Denver metro area (including Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Denver, Douglas, Jefferson, and Weld counties)
- Excel academically, with an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above (although this is not a strict requirement – we welcome other indicators of academic success)
- Demonstrate community leadership and/or service through involvement with school clubs, community-based organizations, part-time work, family responsibilities, etc
- Need extra financial support and guidance for the college and career process
- Are ready to be a part of a tight-knit community of like-minded students
The application opens on January 1 each year is due on March 1. We are grateful for your support with spreading the word about our program to the students in your school or organization.
