    Loyola Committee:

    The Loyola Committee is devoted to organizing events and enriching student life on the Loyola campus.

    Investigative Committee:

    The Investigative Committee upholds ASFA’s Policy against harassment, discrimination, and violence to represent the best interests of arts and science students. The committee ensures fair and impartial investigations on complaints brought forward by arts and science students.

    This year, the committee is focusing on reviewing its policy to ensure its actionable.

    Policy Committee: 

    The Policy Committee reviews the By-Laws and Standing Regulations governing ASFA and proposes changes or amendments. The committee sends all proposed changes to Council for approval. In addition, it is responsible for drafting and maintaining any additional policy implemented within the Association.

    This year, the committee will focus on reformatted ASFA's existing polcies into the style-guide adopted in Winter Semester 2022. In addition to adopting a HR and accessability policy.

    Internal Committee

    The Internal Affairs Committee serves to support MA Executives in navigating budgets and policies. The committee is also responsible for overseeing the creation of any new Member Associations, as well as appointments and hiring within the federation.

    This year, the committee will focus on reviewing and archving MA bylaws; as well as supporting elections and other internal projects related to ASFA and MAs. 

    Finance Committee 

    The Finance Committee's objective is to examine and recommend the ASFA Council on budgetary and other financial matters. It is in charge of approving the Member Associations budgets and Special Project Funding requests. The committee also oversees plans for investments and contingency affairs.

    This year, the committee will focus on increasing the ASFA fee-levy to support employment equity and finding external funding for some of ASFA's projects, such as our task force on sexual and racial violence. 

    Academic Committee

    The Academic Committee examines relevant academic issues affecting the student body and advocates in the best interest of Arts and Science students in the Faculty.

    This year, the committee will focus on advocating for department-specific courses on sustanability to be added to the arts and science curriculum. 

    Mobilization Committee

    The Mobilization Committee’s mandate is to advocate on behalf of all Arts & Science students, particularly those from equity-seeking communities. The committee is mandated to plan campaigns in the interest of arts and science students.

    This year, the committee will focus on actions surrounding COP 15 in Montreal, as well as divestment from RBC.

    Student Life Committee

    The Student Life Committee helps organize and promote ASFA and MA's social and special events including FROSH. 

    Arts and Science Faculty Council 

    The Arts and Science Faculty Council is a University-run committee. As the student union representing arts and science undergraduate students at Concordia, ASFA is permitted to appoint 8 students to this Council. Responsabilities include makeing recommendations to the University's Senate; suggesting changes to degree requirements the appointment of representatives to university committees and more.

    Judicial Committee

    Collaberate with other students to ensure the effective functioning of ASFA by interpreting the ASFA by-laws and to settle disputes.

    ASFA is an Independent and student-run association which represents the collective voice of over 14,000 students in the Faculty of Arts and Science at Concordia. ASFA advocates for student rights, builds community on campus through events, supports 33 department-based student Member Associations, and provides services to foster a supportive and positive student experience.
