The PSW Challenge Fund Stipend Payment

Please proceed only if you are a PSW Challenge Fund student enrolled at our Downtown, Eglinton, Hamilton, Mississauga-Dundas, Mississauga-Hurontario or North York campus locations.    

The Government of Ontario announced its PSW Challenge Fund program in April 2022. In accordance with this Program, a Stipend Payment (the “PSW Stipend”) will be paid to you for hours worked during your practicum.

The PSW Stipend is $16.50 per hour for work performed during your practicum. Before receiving the stipend payment, please fill the form below to provide Anderson College with all required banking and personal information.

The PSW Stipend will be processed by Anderson College (together with its payroll provider  monthly and paid on the third Friday following the end of the respective month. Sufficient time is required by Anderson College and its payment provider to process the stipend payment seamlessly and accurately. To further clarify, practicum hours completed from November 1 to November 25, 2022 will be paid on December 17, 2022; practicum hours completed from November 28 to December 31, 2022 will be paid on January 17, 2023. All payments are subject to applicable taxes and deductions.

 In consideration of the foregoing, by filling and signing the form, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

1.     I agree that I will submit weekly time sheet no later than 5:00 pm on the Tuesday following the end of the prior practicum week. For example, practicum hours for the week from November 1 to November 4, 2022 will be provided to my campus no later than 5:00 pm on November 8, 2022.

2.     I understand that each week’s time sheet will be signed by my practicum site supervisor before sending over to my campus.

3.     I understand that delayed time sheet submissions will result in stipend payment delays.

4.     I understand that an incorrect student ID, SIN number or banking information will result in stipend payment delays.

5.     I confirm that I have double checked the accuracy of my student ID, SIN number and banking details.

6.     I confirm that I have provided here either a void cheque or account details provided by my bank to ensure that my banking information is accurate.

7.     I understand that I am not an employee of Anderson College or the placement organization where I perform my practicum. Receiving a PSW Stipend through Anderson College does not change my status as a student. Therefore, I am not entitled to any compensation or benefits typically provided to employees of Anderson College.

8.     I understand that the Employment Standards Act, 2000 (the “ESA”) does not apply to anyone who performs work during practicum in relation to a program that is approved by a registered private career college, such as Anderson College. I acknowledge and accept that I will not have any right to make an employment related claim regarding my practicum, under either the ESA or the common law, as against Anderson College or the placement organization where I perform my practicum.

9.     I understand that the PSW Stipend is subject to funding and regulations by the Government of Ontario for practicum hours completed. Anderson College acts solely as an administrator of the stipend payment. Anderson College is not an agent of the Government of Ontario in respect of the Program.
