    Sydney Shires Cricket

    Umpire Assessment Form
  • As part of our aim to improve umpire standards across Shires Cricket, we appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback on your umpire/s in your most recent match

To complete this form you will need to have remembered the name of the umpires who officiated the game. If unsure check the umpires name and signature in your scorebook, or you can source the name of your umpires via the appointments sheet for each round of cricket which can be viewed from the SSCUA website - www.sscua.com.au

Where you have two umpires in your match please take the time to know which umpire is which in your game. We wish to avoid the scenario that has happened in the past where a captain has assessed both umpires exactly the same because they could not remember who was who.

The person completing this form must have been the captain of the side for the match in question.

If you wish to discuss any matters regarding Umpiring, Laws of the Game or the Competition Playing Conditions you can send an email to shireumpires@iprimus.com.au

    Note - Shires 5th Grade
Most matches in this grade only have one umpire allocated. For the 2nd umpire field below please type "Not Applicable" where a response is required.

CHAPPELOW CUP - This competiton no longer requires an umpire assessment. Clubs that want to supply feedback for matters deemed important can write an email to SSCUA Secretary Stephen Blomfield at shireumpires@iprimus.com.au

Thank you for your assistance in completing this form.

  •                                              Umpire Assessment Criteria

    Umpire Assessment Umpire Mark
    Poor 1 out of 5
    Fair 2 out of 5
    Good 3 out of 5
Very Good 4 out of 5
    Excellent 5 out of 5

As a guide, a solid performance without any real issues should be marked as Very Good or better. A game with one judgement error should generally not make for a poor assessment.

If you mark umpires with a score of 1 or 2 in any competency question below you are required to provide justifying remarks in the comments box below.

Please try to assess each criteria question independently rather than choosing to tick the same answer for each question.

  • Should be Empty:
