Putting Your Church in Order
Every church should desire to grow and reach their community with the gospel. But how is that done and why would anyone come to your church? There are two basic reasons people visit a church: either someone invited them or they were searching for a church on their own. Developing a mentality of winning the lost and inviting them to church is a key element in the growth of a church. Encouraging members to invite friends and family is a basic means of reaching your community. A less personal means of an invitation to your church is from mailing a postcard, writing a personal letter a web site or social media. While many people come to church as a result of an invitation others come because they are searching for a church or perhaps they are searching for spiritual help. The first place people look for a church today is through the internet. Sometimes people pass by your church and decide to visit. Making your church known in the community can reap great benefits and cause people to visit. Of the people who make a first time visit how many return again? Why would anyone want to return to your church? The greatest prospects to get saved and become a member of the church are those that visit for the first time. Visitors attend a church because they are looking for something. They may be looking for a fundamental church or they may be looking for meaning in life. Of course some people are looking for a church that is perfect and they keep visiting churches trying to find one that meets all their criteria but they never find such a church. Do they have friends or family that invited them to come or were they drawn to you by your philosophy, your preaching or your program? There are reasons people visit and there are reasons people return. It would be a mistake to change the philosophy of the church to accommodate the desires of the community however there may be areas of the church that can be improved that will cause people to want what you have! This review is intended to help refine and improve the operation and administration of your church to give the best opportunity to reach and maintain a successful ministry.
