In this Policy Round Table, we want to bring together around the table regional and national policy makers, regional and national economic developers (e.g., agencies in charge of the Smart Specialisation Strategies) from various Danubian regions and countries to discuss what can be done to (further) develop the bioeconomy sector in the area, to facilitate a discussion among peers on their needs, share learnings (what works, what doesn’t) and get inspiration for development opportunities for bioeconomy in their regions/countries.
Out of the dynamic interplay between economic developers, policy makers, clusters, experts and beneficiaries the objective is to define or align upon possible actions to be carried out (also in a joint manner), considering various contexts, like the Smart Specialisation Strategies (for Sustainability), collaborative spaces in the region (Danube Region Strategy) or developments in Europe (outcomes from the European Bioeconomy Conference on 6-7 October).
