Stories to Tell: A Queer Solo Performance Workshop is a 4-week workshop starting on Wednesdays, January 18 - Februrary 8, 2023 at 7:00pm-10:00pm

- You will apply techiniques of solo performance
- Build a brave community with other learning artists
Work with critically acclaimed international artist Giovanni Ortega.
Giovanni Ortega is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and public speaker who believes in creating an accepting and inclusive relationship with artists and international communities. As a member of Theatre Without Borders & DNA Works Ensemble, they have the distinct opportunity to work with communities and artists from across the globe to engage, investigate and create stories that usually go untold but are relevant and important to share with everyone from South America to Southeast and South Asia. In 2016, Ortega started The Body Series at the Haque Centre of Acting and Creativity in Singapore. The devised plays include Creation of My Body, Words of My Body, Thoughts of My Body and Map of My Body. The presentations have also been workshopped at the National Theatre of Parramatta (Sydney) and East West Players (LA). Written commissions include The Butterfly of Chula Vista (San Diego Rep), Poetry Festival Singapore poetic pieces Benches, Palindromes and films Belonging, Atlas and Nomads as well as East West Players' Criers for Hire & ALLOS, The Story of Carlos, Bulosan. Giovanni is currently the Artistic Director for FilAm Arts Teatro.
