• Welcome to the 2026 - 2027 Shipbuilders School Year!

If you have any questions, call/text Caitlyn Tapia-Bindrum @ 915-780-3719

Welcome to the 2026-27 ShipBuilder school year.  This is going to be our 6th ShipBuilder year!  Can you believe it?!?! Welcome back to all our returning AMAZING Shepherds! If this is your first year with ShipBuilders Ministry, WELCOME! We are so glad you have joined our FABULOUS team.

Below are all the areas of ministries and the schools you may serve in. Please select the ministry/school(s) that would best work for you.  If there are a couple schools you could possibly serve at, please check the corresponding box and I will place you at the school which needs more volunteers.  If you are a returning volunteer and wish to take a break this year (I PRAY YOU WON'T), please check the corresponding box.

MentorSHIPs - 1 on 1 mentoring with a carefully selected student by the school counselor/administration. Commitment requires a 1 hour face to face session with the student once a month. No prior experience required. Plan for 2:30pm - 3:45pm for elementary (with the exception of Pebble Hills which is 2:30-4:00pm) and 8:30am-9:02am for Hanks Middle School.

There are only 8–9 gatherings throughout the entire school year, but those few meetings can make a lasting difference in a child's life. Many of these students genuinely look forward to seeing their mentor each month and often ask about them when they're absent. Your consistent presence communicates something powerful to them: that they matter and are worth showing up for.

Because of this, I ask that if you sign up, you fully commit to attending every gathering whenever possible. These children need to see the same dedicated face each month in order to build trust and meaningful relationships.

Biblical mentorship has always been rooted in faithful presence and intentional investment in others. While we cannot verbally share the Gospel during mentorship, we can faithfully live it out. Through kindness, consistency, encouragement, integrity, and genuine care, we have the opportunity to be a positive witness and reflect Christ's love to students, teachers, and school staff.

PartnerSHIP Ministry Volunteers are called upon by the schools more sporadically to help with various activities and school events.  A majority of the activities are held during school hours.  Volunteers may serve on the activities that their schedule allows.

As each campus finalizes its calendar and shares additional events with me, I will send out an updated Jotform so everyone has the chance to sign up. Please expect this list by August to prepare for upcoming events in September. New forms with upcoming dates will be sent out every 3 months.

Once you sign up for an event, please make every effort to be present and arrive on time, as our schools are counting on the volunteers who commit to serve. Thank you for faithfully representing Christ and Cielo Vista Church in our community!

Due to the nature and requirements of this ministry, I ask that you faithfully commit to one or two ministry areas for the academic school year. If you feel you have the time and capacity to serve in an additional area, please let me know, and we can talk through the opportunities together.

In conclusion, as we begin another school year, I want you to know how incredibly grateful I am for each one of you. Thank you for your willingness to give your time, your love, and your hearts to the students, families, and staff in our schools. Your faithful service is making an eternal impact, and I am SO grateful to serve alongside each of you.

I am praying that this year will be filled with opportunities to build meaningful relationships, encourage others, and faithfully reflect the love of Christ wherever He has placed us. I truly love and appreciate every one of you, and I cannot wait to see what God will do through this ministry during the 2026–2027 school year.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Anything I can do for you, please do not hesitate to reach out. I am here to serve YOU.

"Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." (1 Corinthians 15:58)
