Our Parental Concerns Policy (included here) to provide parents additional options to contact us regarding any concerns, issues or problems you may be having. Below is the updated policy:
PARENTAL CONCERNS Our admin staff (including our executive director) are committed to resolving the concerns and issues of its students and their parents/guardians. Please follow these steps before completing this form:
Step 1 Please complete our academic inquiry form on our website https://ocalaprepacademy.com/parent-student-forms/ with concerns. Please allow five working days to receive a response. If our staff does not resolve your concern satisfactorily, go to Step 2.
Step 2 Email the executive director at kvega@oasn.info to file a formal complaint (please list this in your email to her). All formal concerns/problems will receive a decision in writing within 10 working days of receipt of the concern/problem. If you are still having a concern after you have gone through these steps, go to step 3.
Step 3 If you have not requested a parent/teacher conference (if this is a classroom concern), please request a parent/teacher conference first. If this does not apply, go to Step 4.
Step 4 Ensure that at all stages, you have followed our Parent Partnership.
Step 5 If you have followed all of the above steps, please complete this Parent Concerns Form at https://form.jotform.com/oasnopa/parent-concerns-form (this form can also be found on the forms area of our website). This form will be sent to our board chair and available board members. You will receive a formal response within 10 working days.
PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES Parents, teachers, and/or the executive director or her designated staff may also request a parent-teacher conference at any time to address an issue or concern. Parents are encouraged to complete an academic inquiry form on our website https://ocalaprepacademy.com/parent-student-forms/ to schedule a parent/teacher conference. Please make sure to provide as much pertinent information as possible in your inquiry.
PARENT PARTNERSHIP We believe that a positive constructive working relationship between our & a student’s parents/guardians is essential to the fulfillment of our mission. As a community, it is important that we all collectively engage in an affirming, encouraging atmosphere. The expression of negative feelings & even supposedly "constructive" criticism can do much to undermine any school’s atmosphere. The OASN board and executive director do not seek to suppress any parent concern or grievance, however, we do ask that such concern or grievance be handled in a healthy, constructive manner. OASN reserves the right to not continue enrollment or not to re-enroll a student if it is reasonably concluded that the actions of a parent/guardian make such a positive and constructive relationship impossible or otherwise seriously interfere with our school and the accomplishment of its educational purposes.
