Non-Traditional Photopolymer
Instructor - Kate Baillies
1 Day Workshop
December 4th, 2022
10:00am - 4:00pm
Interested in a fluid and intuitive process that utilizes photopolymer plates in an unconventional way? In this workshop, you will learn how to prepare the Photopolymer plate with relief ink, to then explore some of mark-making possibilities by drawing into and creating textures on the inked surface. The techniques introduced in this workshop are akin to the idea of creating a Monoprint on a photosensitive coating. The resulting image is then exposed to UV light and developed in water. There are also some post-exposure opportunities to mark-marking, as well! No experience necessary!
The instructor will cover:
- Preparation and handling for photopolymer plates
- Use of tools for mark making before exposure
- Exposing plates with our Polimero Exposure unit and plate development
- Additional working of photopolymer surface after development
- Inking and printing your plates
- Printing on our Studio presses
$175.00 Supplies included, prices not subject to GST.
Class limited to 5 Participants
