    INTERESTED IN AN EXCITING CAREER IN PIPEFITTING, WELDING, HEATING, AIR CONDITIONING, AND REFRIGERATION (CONSTRUCTION, SERVICE & MAINTENANCE)?
  • APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:       

    • Age: The 2023-2024 first year class will need to be 18 by August 15, 2023. See Section 111-B-2—Qualifications of Applicants for Apprenticeship in the National Guideline Standards of Apprenticeship.
    • The 2023-2024 first year class will need either a HS transcript or a GED certificate and a report of test scores.
    • Complete and submit this form with the following:
      • Birth certificate or other such document for proof of age;
      • High School transcript or high school equivalency (GED) and report of test results.
      • Military transfer or discharge Form DD-214,if applicable;
    • Appear for interview when notified.
    • If selected for apprenticeship, final acceptance may be contingent on the ability to pass drug and background screening.

  • Applicants must provide one of the following educational documents:

    1. Transcript of High School Grades. High school seniors must also provide a letter from their guidance counselor on school letterhead stating they will graduate by June 30, 2023.

    Or

    2. GED scores (Only GEDs that are American Council on Education accredited will be accepted. Visit acenet.edu for further information).  Only scores from programs accredited through the American Council on Education will be accepted.

    • County or state-issued birth certificate, United States Passport or Naturalization Certificate
    • Valid Driver’s License or a State issued Picture Identification Card
    • DD214 (for veterans of military service only)

    *Please do not procrastinate compiling these documents. Replacements may take several weeks to obtain.

    *All foreign documents must be accompanied by a translation of that document and a letter from your embassy stating its authenticity. For any transcript, the letter must document the equivalency of this transcript.

  • IF YOU ARE ACCEPTED FOR A PROBATIONARY APPRENTICESHIP YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO:

    1. Serve as a probationary apprentice for a period of 1 year (1700-2000 hours of on-the-job training);
    2. Serve a 5 year apprenticeship including the probationary period (8500-10,000 hours of on-the-job training);
    3. Report for work on a regular basis;
    4. Provide for you transportation to and from the job site;
    5. Work under the direction of a Journey Worker on the job site and perform job duties satisfactorily;
    6. Attend related training classes regularly and maintain an acceptable average in those classes;
    7. Purchase text material for use in related training classes as required:
    8. Abide by all rules and regulations of the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee.
