  • Student Hotspot/Laptop Checkout Agreement

    Complete one form per household.
  • Snohomish School District (SSD) is offering a limited number of wireless hotspot devices and/or Student District Discretionary laptops. These units are intended for families who demonstrate economic need by participating in the Free and Reduced Meal Program. 

  • HOW DO I CHECK OUT A HOTSPOT AND A LAPTOP?

    1. Students must be currently enrolled in the district’s Free and Reduced Meal Program to participate

    o   Applications can be found here.

    2. Hotspots are only available to families with no other means of internet connectivity, and when other options available through the "Affordable Connectivity Program" have been exhausted. Documentation of the denial is required to apply.

    3. The following agreement must be read, acknowledged, and signed by the parent/guardian of the student(s) needing the hotspot and laptop.

    By checking out devices, families agree to the following:

    • The district provided hotspot and/or laptop is for student use only and is not intended to be used for non-school purposes.
    • Hotspots have a limited amount of data per month, and thus it should not be used for streaming movies, games, or other non-school related material. Exceeding the monthly limit will result in slowed bandwidth.
    • The district provided hotspot and/or laptop is on a loan to the student for the current school year only.
    • I understand that I am not to place any security on the device which would prevent the district from managing or resetting the device.
    • I understand that I am to return the equipment and charger in the condition it was provided minus normal wear and tear.
    • I understand that I must follow all school board policies, including Snohomish School District Technology Use Policy.  All users need to take responsibility for their use of online resources.
    • Hotspots are not covered by the protection plan. I understand I am responsible for any loss or damage to the hotspot in accordance with the terms of this agreement and shall reimburse the district for any device that is lost, damaged, abandoned, missing, stolen, or cannot be returned to the district in accordance with the terms of this agreement.
    • Parents are required to provide a police report in the event the hotspot and/or laptop are believed to have been stolen.
    • If the hotspot is not returned on the due date, parent/guardian will be notified, and the service will be disconnected.  The device will no longer be usable.  Failure to return the device will result in a $80 charge. Snohomish School District reserves the right to refuse checkout to students who abuse the service or device.
    • If the laptop is not returned on the due date, the device will be marked overdue. Failure to return the device will result in a $350 laptop replacement fee and a $25 charger replacement fee. Snohomish School District reserves the right to refuse checkout to students who abuse the service or device.
