AAJA Chicago/Chicago Tribune 2023 David Ibata Internship

The Chicago chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association is pleased to sponsor a paid, full-time summer 2023 internship at the Chicago Tribune.

AAJA's portion of the paid internship is given in honor of chapter co-founder and longtime Chicago Tribune journalist David Ibata for his dedication to empowering the voice of Asian Americans.

The chosen candidate will receive valuable, hands-on reporting experience at a top Chicago newsroom. The Chicago Tribune is one of the largest newspapers in the United States, with a newsroom-wide focus on journalism that serves the Chicago region across fault lines and emerging strategies to reach readers wherever they are.

All candidates must submit a resume, a cover letter and two to four clips or other work samples.

REQUIREMENTS

Eligible interns are current junior or senior undergraduate students, graduate students or recent college graduates.
Interns must be student members of AAJA by the time they start the internship (register at aaja.org).
Ability to live in Chicago in summer 2023.
Prior work experience is preferred, but not required.
