 How Much Am I Called to Give?

Many of us find it helpful to think of our giving in terms of a percentage of income.  As a benchmark for our giving, the Bible offers the concept of tithing, which means giving 10% of our income.  But for most of us, that’s a stretch.  It helps to start at a lower percentage, then gradually grow our generosity over time.  The table below can help us think about what level of giving we want to establish as our ultimate goal, then plan how to get there gradually in steps over time.  For example, I might begin at 2.5%, then eventually go to 4%, and continue progressing over time until I hit the level of giving I feel called to.
