Welcome to the second year of our RAISE (Responsive Arts in School Education) programming, part of a five-year grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education that provides an unprecedented opportunity for our Young Audiences network community to learn and grow together. Central to RAISE is intensive professional learning for our network teaching artists in healing-centered, culturally responsive practices rooted in social emotional learning. We believe that by building upon our strong practice of arts integration with a deep dive into social emotional support and student empowerment, the impact on the young people we serve will be transformative.
We are pleased to continue our partnership with The Center for Arts Education and Social Emotional Learning (ArtsEdSEL) as facilitators for our two courses this year. The first course, a deep dive into Healing-centered Education, is open to teaching artists who completed the RAISE professional learning last spring. The other course, Intro to SEL, is open to all TAs who are new to the RAISE program. In a shift from last year, both courses will be fully synchronous (live) on Zoom.
Teaching artists accepted into either course will be paid at $45 per hour completed. Note that applicants who are able to attend all of the live sessions will be prioritized. Applications are due by November 28; teaching artist applicants will be notified of whether they have been accepted to receive this compensated opportunity by December 9.
