If the minimum number of adults are not in attendance on the day, you may be refused entry but still be charged.

  • Dates & Times

  • We are happy to accomodate the first visit in the Guildhall at 11am Mon - Sun. Our last slot of the day is at 4.15pm. A visit lasts between 45mins and 1hr.

We welcome groups up to a maximum of 45 people (children and adults) into the Schoolroom at any one time. For groups larger than fourty, we can accomodate over multiple or consecutive visits.

Please note, due to the size of the museum, there is no space to accomodate lunches for Schoolgroups.

  • As a travel trade booker, we require one form per booking.

This is so that we can have a seperate reference number and contact number for the guide on the day. If your group is too large for one visit, we will be in touch to break this down to multiple groups

If you need to book multiple groups, please complete this form and reload it to start again.

  • As your group is larger than 40, your visit will need to be spread over multiple visits as we will not be able to accomodate the whole group at any one time. We  recommend a simultaneous visit with one of our preferred visitor attractions.

You can find out more about each attraction below then let us know if you are interested.

  • Thats great to hear; after you have submitted this form, we will be in touch to discuss how we can accomodate a combined visit.

    • FAQs and info on lunch and loos...
    • Q. Do you have toilet facilities?

We only have a single toilet for wheelchair users or those who have access requirments. This toilet does not have a winch system.

The nearest public toilets are (equadistantly) on the Ely Street entrance to Bell Court or the public toilets on Bard's Walk in the RSC (or Swan) Gardens.

Please use this site to find a preffered toilet.

      Q. Is Shakespeare's Schoolroom and Guildhall wheelchair accessable?

Shakespeare's Schoolroom and Guildhall is wheelchair accessable, thanks to our platform lift and accesable toilet. The lift dimensions are 85cm x 125cm and it carries a max weight of 400kg, as such mobility scooters are not suitable.

We have also modified an original Georgian Schooldesk to accomodate a wheelchair so that wheelchair users can enjoy the quill writing sessions.

As a 600yr old, grade 1 listed building, there are a number of lumps, bumps and uneven floors. Usually these bumps are small and the larger ones have been covered by rubber matting. These may not be suitable for some wheelchairs.

      Q. Can my group eat lunch in the Schoolroom? or book a room to do so?

Unfortunately we do not have the facilities, or the space, to accomodate lunch requests. That said, there are a number of picturesque green spaces nearby which we would be happy to direct you to on your arrival.

There are also a large number of cafes and eateries in Stratford-upon-Avon itself.

      Q. Are there any resources that we can use?

We do have a fantastic Teacher's timeline and Toolkit which we can send along with our risk assesment on confirmation of payment. If you click the back button on this form you will find a question asking if you want to recieve a copy.

      Q. How close are the coach parks?

There are two coach parks in Stratford-upon-Avon itself. The closest one to the Schoolroom is on Windsor Street and the other is in the Leisure Centre car park. They are a 10 and 15 min walk away respectively. Coaches are allowed to drop off in front of the Indigo hotel, opposite the Schoolroom.

      Q. What if we are running late on the day?

With your booking confirmation, you will recieve contact details for our manager on duty. Please contact them if you are running late or have an emergency.

      Q. Is there a hearing loop?

There is a portable loop which the guide can carry with them. Please request this on arrival. There is no fixed loop on the welcome desk.

    • Cancellation Policy
    • Here at Shakespeare's Schoolroom and Guildhall, as one of Stratford's top visitor attractions, we are understanding of last minute changes and adjustments of groups. Where possible, we will always seek to re-schedule a booking, rather than cancel.

That said, as a small charity supported by volunteers, we do have to be mindful of the added costs incurred by last minute cancellations.

Bookings cancelled or amended within 14 days of the booking date will be charged 50% of the booking total.

Bookings cancelled or amended within 7 days of the booking date will be charged 100% of the booking total.

If a booking is re-sheduled, but the attendee number drops to below 50% of the original booking, you will still be charged 50% of the original booking total.
