  • Introduction

Welcome to the UJIA Israel Experiences in Summer 2023 - Leaders Application Form. This is what you will need to do in order to complete your application:

     1.   Complete this Application Form and sign the UJIA Israel Experience Leader's Agreement on the final page.

    2.   Email a copy of your DBS certificate, if you have one, to your Youth Movement/Organisation. If you do not have one, you will be required to get one (via your Youth Movement/Organisation) if you are selected to be a Leader on a UJIA Israel Experience-supported Israel Experience in Summer 2023.

You will then be invited to participate in a UJIA Training Assessment and Screening day. Attendance on one of these days is mandatory for all applicants.

All acceptance decisions will be made in conjunction with your Youth Movement/Organisation.

Please note: this form does not automatically save your responses. It is recommended that you write and save your answers on a word document before copying them into this form.

A PDF copy of the form can be found here for reference.

Thank you for applying. We look forward to receiving your completed application form.

  • UJIA Training Seminars

The assessment and training provided for you on a UJIA Israel Experience supported programme is an essential requirement for being a Tour Leader for the programme. This assessment and training is compulsory to attend in its entirety and being unable to do so may mean that you are not eligible to lead. The training includes a one-day first aid course which can be completed on two possible dates, as well as the Spring and Summer Seminars. If you are able to attend both first aid courses, we will allocate which day you should attend.

This year the dates are as follows:

    Training and Assessment Days (TADs):

You are required to attend a TAD on one of the following days: 11th December, 8th January, 3rd date TBC (if needed)

    Spring Seminar:

The Seminar will be on the 28th-30th March (in-person & non-residential) and will take place in the UK.

Spring First-Aid: Date in March/April TBC

    Summer Seminar:

The Seminar will be on Sunday 18th to Thursday 22nd June (in-person & residential) and will take place in Israel.

Summer First-Aid: Date in June TBC

  •
  • If you have extenuating circumstances that will prevent you from attending First Aid training and/or any part of the two Seminars, please be in email contact with Josh Dubell (josh.dubell@ujia.org) and your Youth Movement/Organisation as soon as possible. This will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

Failure to contact Josh Dubell and your Youth Movement/Organisation may mean that you will not be eligible to lead on a UJIA Israel Experience-supported programme.

  • A vital aim of the leader assessment and screening process is to support leaders to be the best versions of themselves during the summer Israel Experiences. In order to do this we plan a course of training that we hope is responsive to your needs.

Please take some time and think about what further training and development you would find helpful at this point in your leadership journey.

  • Health and Welfare

Your physical and emotional well-being is of the utmost importance to us. We want to do everything we reasonably can to support you on Israel Tour so that you and your participants can have an incredible experience. We are committed to inclusion and experienced in providing support where possible for Israel Tour Leaders with a range of medical, physical, emotional, psychological and mental health conditions.

To help us do this effectively, please answer the following question as openly and honestly as possible. Following on from your application, it is common practice to have a follow-up conversation to assess the support you might need and its feasibility. Please note that if you are offered a role as an Israel Tour leader this will be conditional on completing a full medical form.

We endeavour to provide support to enable Israel Tour Leaders to successfully lead Israel Tour, creating an inclusive learning space. We appreciate your honesty in answering these sensitive questions. All your responses will be treated confidentially. Please note that failure to disclose any relevant information may mean we are unable to support you and may result in your being unable to lead on Israel Tour. If you are not comfortable sharing any information or details at this stage of your application and would like to wait until after you’ve been offered a role as a Tour Leader, please indicate so below.

If you would like to speak to someone about this or have any questions, please contact your Youth Movement/Organisation office directly.
