  • As a sub contractor working for C Watkins Plumbing, it is a condition of your contract with us that you hold a minimum of £2M Public Liability insurance. And if you have directly employed or sub contract persons working for you, then you are also required to hold £10M Employers Liability insurance.

    It is important to check that the insurance you hold covers you for all the work you are likely to be doing on a Watkins site. Therefore, please ensure:
    - Your business description accurately reflects the work you are primarily doing. In most cases a 'Plumbing or Electrical contractor'
    - It has a minimum of £2M Public Liability cover.
    - There are no restrictions to the height or floor you work on.

    Recommended Insurance:

    We recommend using the Broker 'James Hallam Ltd' who offer comprehensive insurance at a very competitive rate to sub contractor's working for C Watkins Plumbing Ltd. For example Plumbing / Mechanical sub contractor's PL cover for residential work usually ranges between £250 and £400 per year (depending on your exact circumstances) and for Electrical contractors is usually £90 per year. And this insurance will cover you for work on other sites not just Watkins.

    Plus you can insure your tools to the value of £2500 for around £30 extra per year. So why risk not doing it.

  • Note: Watkins M&E Group Ltd is a plumbing, heating, mechanical, and electrical services contractor specializing in new build residential housing and high rise developments.

    NB: This form must be completed by an Insurance Company or Broker. This is to certify that the following Insurance Policies are in full force and effect. The said Insurance Companies agree that in the event of any change being made to the policies which affects the interest of Watkins M&E Group Ltd, or in the event said Policies are cancelled, written notice will be given to Watkins M&E Group Ltd as detailed above.

  • 6. Self-Billing Agreement

  • Watkins operate self-billing agreements with sub-contractors as part of a process to simplify documentation and payments.

    You can read our sell-billing agreement below.

  • Watkins agrees:
    1. To issue self-billed invoices/payment certificates for all supplies made to them by the self-biller (sub-contractor) until 12 months from the date of signature of this agreement.
    2. To complete self-billed invoices/payment certificates showing the subcontractor’s name, address and VAT registration number, together with all the other details which constitute a full VAT invoice.
    3. To make a new self-billing agreement if their VAT registration number changes.
    4. To comply with domestic reverse charge rules applicable from 1st March 2021 and ensure the appropriate notes are added to the self-bill invoice and credit note.

  • The self-billee (subcontractor) agrees:
    1. To accept the invoices raised by Watkins on their behalf until 12 months from the date of this agreement.
    2. Not to raise sales invoices for supplies made to the customer (Watkins).
    3. Notify Watkins immediately if they change their VAT registration, cease to be VAT registered, change their company name or sell their business or part of their business.
