You will need to provide the following details before the application can be considered:

• Financial income and outgoings for the year, including Bank Statements and utility bills
• A potential referees who can verify your care or former care background
• A minimum of one referee who will support your application
• Some background for your application, describing what it's for and why you need it.

Grant Making Policy

In particular we ask you to note the following:

• The charity does not accept applications for financial assistance with rent,  accommodation or to pay off financial debt.
• The charity does not accept applications from anyone residing outside of the UK
• The charity expects applicants to utilise any other sources of financial support where available to them including Student Finance loans
• The charity does not accept applications for UK citizens to study overseas
• The charity does not make cash payments to applicants, instead it will pay for services, goods, supplies on your behalf.

Criteria for the Application

For the purpose of the below choices “care experienced” means people who have at some stage had foster care or residential care experience.

Who can we contact to verify your care experience?

We may want to talk to someone who knows about your current circumstances to support your application.

Please provide details of two referees. PLEASE NOTE: Referees must not be related to you. Where possible, please provide referees who can represent your current or former Local Authority, employer or educational establishment.

Your referees should have known you for some years and be able to speak of your character and personality.

We appreciate you may not be able to provide all of the following information at this time, however, we will definitely need you to work with our support workers to provide the following documentation:

Last 3 months Bank statements

Proof of care experience or a contact who may verify

Proof of incomings/outgoings

If you cannot attach them now, please start trying to source them so your application is not delayed.
