Kilkenny Swimming Club are looking for swimmers, who have as a minimum, a good level of swimming standard, i.e. they need to be able to swim and have a decent handle on their three strokes - freestyle, breast stroke and back stroke.
Trials will be held on Wednesday November 23rd 2022. If your swimmer is successful in their trial, they will formally start training with KSC the following Thursday, Dec 1st (which is the start of Term 2 for our squads). You will be notified one way or another via email within 24 hours of the trial. The place must be accepted / declined within 24 hours of that offer email, so it can be offered to the next on the list (should you decline). Places within the Club are in huge demand.

This form is an expression of interest, in attending swim trials. We will contact you via email before Nov 23rd to confirm your trial place and what to do / bring on trial day. You can take it the time you select on this form is your allocated time. Please be patient and understanding....our Club is run by volunteers!
Our Club is split into four squads:
D squad - D1, D2 and D3 are our entry level squads. These swimmers work on stroke technique. D Squad swim once per week, Thursdays. They do not register with Swim Ireland and are not permitted to attend galas, outside our own Club Galas (held bi-annually in the Watershed).
C squad - C Juniors, C1 and C2.
C Juniors apply the techniques acquired in D Squad in to longer a distance, i.e. lengths. In C Juniors swimmers must register with Swim Ireland and are encouraged to attend galas. CJ's swim onces per week, Wednesdays.
C1 is building further on the swimmer's skills and stamina by increasing their number of training hours in the pool. C1 swim twice per week, Tuesdays and Saturdays. C1 are registered with Swim Ireland and are required to attend the galas assigned by the coach.
C2 is preparation for B Squad (competitive swimming). C2 swim twice per week, Tuesdays and Saturdays. C2 are registered with Swim Ireland and are required attend the galas assigned by the coach. C2 swimmers must be working towards acquiring their B Squad 'times'.
B Squad is competitive swimming. The intenstive of training moves up a notch once the swimmer enters this squad. B Squad train 3 times per week (Mon pm, Wed am, Sun am) and maxiumum attendance is manditory. B Squad swimmers should be working towards their A Squad times and attending the assigned galas.
A Squad is competitive swimming and is where the swimmer is encouraged to achieve their maximum potential. A Squad train between 4 - 6 times per week (depending what level of A Squad your swimmer is at) and maxiumum attendance is manditory. Attendance at galas in manditory and assigned by the coach.
