I am the applicant's parent or guardian.My child is not known to be allergic to bee stings, and has my support and my consent to accept this scholarship, if chosen.I give my permission for my child to participate in the class and for a mentor to visit our home & teach my child. I will always be present with my child during MBA activities, including when the mentor is with my child. I recognize that every activity in life has risks, and I will not hold Metro Beekeepers Association or any MBA members responsible for any injury or damage.I understand the bee colony and equipment remain the property of MBA, and cannot be sold, given away, transferred, or destroyed during the qualifying period without written consent.In the event that my child loses interest or can no longer pursue the beekeeping project, I will notify MBA and return the equipment and colony of bees to MBA.
Terms and Conditions
If the scholarship recipient has met all requirements, a Certificate of Completion and full ownership of the colony and equipment will be presented at the December meeting.*

The recipient will care for the bees and equipment as instructed in the class.The recipient will attend at least 70% of the MBA beekeeping classes.The recipient will attend at least six MBA general meetings in the calendar year of the award.At several MBA monthly meetings, the recipient, if asked, will present a short progress report of the activities to date.The recipient will keep a written record with dates, photos, and other pertinent data to substantiate progress reports.The recipient will present a brief final report at the November or December meeting. Successful attendance and reporting of progress is required.
The Scholarship program depends on volunteers and MBA budget. Requirements and awards can be changed with MBA Board approval.
